 Background
In response to an ever growing demand for a high quality, but economically
priced, totally enclosed center-pin trotting reel machined from
solid aerospace quality aluminium bar, we are proud to announce
the launch of the new "Magnum Black Special". This reel
has been developed in close collaboration with a number of prominent
center-pin advocates, to ensure that it meets the needs of the majority
of discerning fishermen. In the hands of an experienced center-pin
fisherman, this reel is a delight to watch, due in the main to its
extremely light action.
- The 4.25"
diameter spool is manufactured from aerospace quality aluminium
to ensure a strong rigid structure. With a 0.75"arbour (drum width).
- A full depth
straight knurl around the spool rim enhances thumb control to
the speed of the rotation.
- The anodised
finish ensures a long corrosion resistant life.
- Two high
quality stainless steel bearings to SO2 standard ensure an extremely
sensitive free rotating action.
- All stainless
steel fixtures ensure rust free operation even in saltwater environments.
- Cast aluminium
saddle is designed to enable the user to hold the reel in an ideal
position for single-handed use.
- Rugged drag
system provided by a stainless steel pawl running in a unique
pressed gear.
- Drag system
operated by a brass twist knob adjacent to the cast saddle for
easier access.
- Spring loaded
drag absorbs shock loads applied by the fish.
- Salt water
resistant, therefore ideal for saltwater fly-fishing.
- All aluminium
construction to ensure a lightweight but robust reel.
- Outer ring
of holes on the front of the spool assists with line drying.
- Two removable
handles give the option of with or without handles, the latter
makes batting easier.
Application
The most important part of any center-pin trotting reel is the quality
of the rotational action of the reel. To promote a light and sensitive
action, we have selected two high quality bearings that will give
up to 2 minutes spool spinning time straight from the production
line. However, once bedded in, the reel will spin for up to 3 minutes.
This reel is light weight enough for fish as small as Dace, but
strong enough to handle big fish such as Steelhead Salmon.
